Tanya Alexander, IABC NL board member, receives CMP

Congratulations to IABC-NL board member Tanya Alexander on being awarded the Communication Management Professional (CMP) designation by the Global Communication Certification Council!

"I'm very proud to be one of two certified Communication Management Professionals (CMP) in the province,” said Tanya. “To be recognized by an international certification body that evaluates all communicators throughout the globe uniformly is a very satisfying thing.

“This designation is the global standard of the communication profession, and akin to other respected industry designations, requires a commitment to continued professional development and contribution to our industry in order to maintain certification. It has confirmed to me that I am in the right field and has bolstered my desire to continue my path of lifelong learning."

The CMP designation is for generalist, specialist and other business communicators with at least 5 to 10 years experience.

The certification program is an initiative of International Association of Business Communicators and is designated by the Global Communication Certification Council to promote a common, global understanding of what constitutes professionalism and competence in communication.
